Vacancy: Group Accountant
Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

The Group Accountant is a member of a team providing consolidated financial information to the Board and Group Leadership Team (GLT) for the purposes of management control and to meet statutory reporting requirements for the Group.
The Group Finance team are responsible for the consolidation and preparation of Group monthly management accounts, annual and half yearly financial statements, budgets and forecasts. We also support various other functions for the Group. The consolidation package is controlled and managed by the team. Numerous projects are also undertaken, mainly relating to acquisitions and disposals of subsidiaries.
Your responsibilities:
- Produce sections of the monthly Group Operating Report (management accounts) to meet the requirements of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and Board, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with group standards. Develop and present business-related analytics aligned with investor relations needs.
- Generate forecasts and reports for financial control purposes and for the Treasury, Tax, and M&A departments. Update consolidation adjustment journals, control intercompany eliminations, and design reports, seeking explanations for variances and assessing their reasonableness.
- Produce sections of the half-year and full-year consolidated published accounts, ensuring compliance with group accounting policies, statutory requirements, and IFRS. Collaborate with relevant finance teams to review and analyze submissions, investigate unexpected items, and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare statutory accounts for UK subsidiaries, primarily under FRS 101. Maintain IFRS technical knowledge and provide advice on reporting requirements as needed.
- Assist with sections of the annual group budget as required, ensuring alignment with financial goals and objectives.
- Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis upon request, effectively handling one-off requirements such as those arising from major transactions or changes to the group structure, leveraging strong IFRS technical accounting awareness.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience in accounting in Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment would be preferred.
- Assist with parts of the Group's annual budget, including technical knowledge of IFRS and advanced reporting requirements.
- Understanding industry dynamics and organizational strategic goals to provide accurate financial reporting, analysis, controls, and guidance aligned with business objectives.
- Possess proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel), with familiarity in analytic tools like PowerBI Analytics in the Cloud being desirable.
- University Degree or equivalent, along with an accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) would be considered advantageous.
