Position purpose:

As a member of the Molecular Biology Tools R&D team, you will be responsible for understanding and performing daily testing of reagents and data analysis for research, development, improvement and troubleshooting molecular biology products (stand alone enzymes and master mixes for amplification and modification of nucleic acids).

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory bench work with focus on daily testing of reagents for development, improvement, and troubleshooting of DNA/RNA amplification and modification products
• Independently develop, revise and review SOP’s and quality records of equipment maintenance, tests, analyses and other relevant data
• Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality and project management teams to execute product development projects that meet customer and manufacturing needs in support of department, site, and corporate objectives
• Compile, analyze data, and compose reports as required, present results and conclusions to the team
• Independently identify areas for further innovation and support continuous improvement efforts (e.g. improved sensitivity, reduced turnaround time etc.)
• Work performed would support GMP manufacturing activities and release testing

• A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology (or closely related discipline)
• Possess a clear understanding and have related experience in basic molecular biology techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven track record to support the product platform through the development of technical notes, peer-reviewed publications, webinars and presentations

Skills and Attributes:
