Job description
Due to growth, Dexcom are now looking to add to the global tax team and recruit a EMEA VAT Compliance Manager. This role will be responsible for managing compliance with all VAT requirements in the European, Middle East and Africa region and will report to the VAT lead.
- Review and sign off all VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat and other indirect tax submissions, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Review and approval of the VAT GL account reconciliations including identifying and explaining variances, taking corrective actions in collaboration with accounting team.
- Line management of VAT assistant; supporting their development.
- Point of contact for routine VAT compliance VAT queries for colleagues throughout the business.
- Managing the VAT compliance framework to ensure VAT data, processes and systems are robust and working effectively; working with colleagues to implement solutions and improvements where appropriate.
- Implementing VAT controls and identifying opportunities to make improvements in VAT compliance.
- Assisting VAT lead with ad-hoc projects as and when required.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of VAT compliance developments throughout the EMEA region.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Attend calls or meetings in different time-zones, outside core working hours of home country.
Requirements
- Significant VAT compliance experience gained with a leading accountancy firm or an in-house multinational tax team.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK and European VAT legislation and practical experience of applying this to businesses.
- Experience of working with ERP systems, Oracle Fusion preferred.
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload.
- Organised and methodical individual, with the ability to plan and organise work effectively, delivering to deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and commit to overtime as necessary.
- Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university
- Recognised tax qualification (CTA/ATT etc), or qualified by experience.
