Oversee day-to-day workflow related to due diligence for the onboarding, recertification, and periodic monitoring of Western Union agent locations on a global scale. Contribute to the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures, and programs designed to minimize potential money laundering risk within the established strategies of the department.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence by applying complex analysis and investigation of potential and existing agents using Western Union systems as well as reviewing records from public and private databases.

  • Perform suspensions, reactivations, interdictions, and reinstatements when required to minimize risk to the Western Union network, agents and consumers.

  • Assist with or lead training and act as a mentor to new team members when required.

  • Assist with or lead projects and present to senior leadership when required.

  • Review complex cases that have been escalated by the junior analysts.

  • Work cross-functionally with teams across the compliance organization, business organization as well as senior leadership and Internal audit teams to ensure department service level agreements (SLAs) and objectives are met.

  • Follow all established policies and procedures and perform day-to-day tasks to ensure that the assigned workflow is within established service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Perform enhanced research and become familiar with relevant regional laws, news, customs, and cultures.

  • Assist and provide guidance in decision making and documenting findings.

  • Support the supervisor and coordinate the team when supervisor is on leave.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience in the financial services or compliance industry is preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience in AML Compliance research and analysis, legal/analytical/financial research, bank secrecy act, Patriot Act, FinCEN, general risk-based compliance and or equivalent education is preferred.

  • In-depth internet research skills including strong Boolean search capabilities are required.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and high attention to detail.

  • Team player with strong collaborative abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly structured, deadline-driven culture.

  • Experience making independent decisions and working with a high level of autonomy.

  • Proficiency in software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint.

  • Experience conducting public database and adverse media research.

  • Ability to use comprehensive mainframe systems.

  • Fluency in English language, both written and spoken is required.

  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.

Salary

The monthly gross base salary range is 2,042 – 3,792 EUR. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates qualifications, skills, and competencies.
