UAB Absolute Systems, a part of the Surveil company headquartered in the UK, has a presence in the USA, South Africa, India, and Japan. This local entity in Vilnius, Lithuania, is dedicated to the development of Surveil groundbreaking platform.

Surveil is a Cloud Cost Optimization platform that primarily targets Azure and Microsoft M365, while also supporting other FinOps-compatible cloud vendors like AWS and GCP. The platforms mission is to help enterprises track and optimize their cloud expenditures through advanced business analytics, tailored recommendations, and real-time alerts. It serves senior management in large enterprises, major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), and customers committed to minimizing costs through the FinOps foundation.

In Vilnius, UAB Absolute Systems is responsible for both backend and frontend development of the Surveil platform. The team is currently composed of four senior developers and works closely with QA teams and product owners based in the UK and South Africa. • Develop and Maintain: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and/or Kotlin.

• Collaborate: Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product owners to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Architect: Contribute to the architectural decisions and technical roadmap to ensure the robustness and scalability of the platform.

• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Innovate: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the platform and development processes.

• Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve complex technical issues to ensure the stability and reliability of the platform.

• Implementing new features and improving existing ones based on customer feedback and strategic goals.

• Conducting peer code reviews to maintain high code quality.

• Collaborating with team members across different locations to align on project requirements and deliverables.

• Writing unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and performance.

• Java 17+/Kotlin: Proven experience in developing backend services using Java (version 17 or later) and/or Kotlin.

• Spring Boot: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework, including Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP).

• MongoDB: Proficiency in working with MongoDB/Atlas for database management.

• Kubernetes: Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes.

• Consul: Experience with Consul for service discovery and configuration.

• Kafka: Knowledge of Kafka for stream processing and real-time data pipelines.

• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is highly beneficial.

• Industry Experience: Experience in a similar backend development role, preferably in a cloud or FinOps environment.

• Agile Mindset: Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments, participating in Scrum or Kanban processes.

• Fluent English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting complex technical issues.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting team members.
