Danske Bank highly prioritizes Financial Crime Prevention, so we are on the search for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Continuous Development Unit in the Transaction Sanctions Screening Area. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a field that is rapidly gaining prominence among financial institutions and society at large.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be entrusted with direct responsibility for managing, optimizing, and implementing improvements to our transaction sanctions screening engine. Moreover, you will be expected to support and enhance our current screening model with both systemic and ad-hoc based solutions.
The role requires a data-driven, logically rational, and solution-focused mindset. To drive initiatives forward, your data analysis and problem-solving skills will be crucial. These qualities will enable you to make a substantial difference in the area. Additionally, your success in this role will be influenced by your ability to articulate and present ideas clearly and maintain strong communication with different stakeholders.
You will become part of a dynamic team of 8 Business Intelligence Analysts and a Team Lead who are at the forefront of driving Transaction Sanctions Screening-related initiatives.

You will:
- Be responsible for managing and optimizing the Transactions Sanctions Screening Engine, ensuring effective and efficient standards across the ecosystem. This will involve the use of specific software linked to screening engines
- Conduct impact assessments that can vary in complexity, from simple analyses based on historical trends to more complex assessments based on our ability to replicate model conditions
- Use data insights to identify and propose new solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of screening models. This includes data extraction, preparation, analysis, and reporting
- Conduct various testing activities, such as scenario adjustment, data preparation, and analysis of output, among others
- Be responsible for defining business requirements, performing operational impact assessments, and providing optimizations for the various solutions developed to support these processes
- Resolve various issues while understanding their impacts on processes and systems
- Contribute to drafting requirements, setting broader agendas, and making necessary decisions independently
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization while conducting analyses and reporting results with insights and recommendations
About you:
- Hands-on experience in data analytics using SQL to access key data points and derive useful insights
- Expertise in big data manipulation, transformation, and analysis with Python would be advantageous
- A willingness to learn and become an expert in specific software related to the screening engine is expected
- Ability to create reports and express complex ideas and analyses in an easily understandable form
- Robust workflow management skills to ensure efficiency, replicability, and accuracy of the output, as well as adequate documentation of the process
- Strong creative component: ability to reimagine current processes, pioneer new initiatives, and contribute to agenda setting. This should be accompanied by consistent documentation of processes and outputs
- Process improvement and configuration analytical skills, accompanied by the ability to work independently to resolve discrepancies, defects, and incidents
- One year of experience working in compliance, AML, or the banking field would be considered a plus
- Intermediate English skills
We offer
Monthly salary range from 2800 EUR to 4200 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
