Vacancy: Finance Cost Controller

The Finance Cost Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling cost-related financial activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency in cost controlling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The responsibilities will also include ensuring, co-ordinating and reporting for non-Production costs (Overheads, R&D, etc.), and working closely with the manufacturing sites and other functions to verify actuals, variances and savings activities. This role will be pivotal in setting the business up for success, ensuring senior managers have access to accurate information in order to manage costs and aid decision making.
Your responsibilities:
- Oversee cost structure ensuring clarity of cost centres, aligned to the organisation design and ensuring managers have access to accurate, timely overhead performance information.
- Analyse and monitor cost structures, and prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts to support decision-making and budget planning.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions. Develop and implement cost control procedures to enhance financial efficiency.
- Work closely with various departments to gather cost data and understand financial impacts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that data provided by the sites reconciles to financial reporting by business units.
- Support the annual Cost Budgeting process, providing the templates needed to ensure timely completion.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience in Governance, Risk and Controls preferably in a large corporate organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical accounting.
- University degree in Finance or related area; ACCA qualification would be considered an advantage.
- Ability to think strategically and switch from the big picture to the detail as the situation requires.
- Results and delivery oriented.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships and manage diverse teams.
