Job description
- Applying knowledge of road design principles, including road curvatures, slopes, cross-section design, and water drainage requirements
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors, to meet project goals and deadlines
- Conducting design calculations and reviewing road plans constructively to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
- Creating and reviewing technical specifications for road construction and providing guidance during the procurement process
- Inspecting road construction sites to ensure quality of work, compliance with specifications, providing recommendations for improvement as needed
- Defining existing roads condition and recommending maintenance solutions
- Managing activities of repair and maintenance of existing infrastructure and installation of new roads.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil engineering
- 5 years of experience in road design (ideally 5 years or more); experience in renewables would be advantageous
- Strong Health and safety background and an understanding of safety regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- B category driving license
- Strong understanding of construction methods
- AutoCAD proficiency would be considered as an advantage.
