BACKEND ENGINEER (mid/senior)

Arbor is a financial wellness startup based in Madrid, helping people to save, invest, and pay off debt through an easy-to-use and free-to-download app. Our mission is simple: to improve people’s financial wellness. We currently offer automated savings, fully diversified investment portfolios in ETF’s from as little as 5eur, automated debt repayment, and ethical loans to pay off credit card debt, among many other financial wellness services.
Arbor is currently operational in Spain with +100.000 users, expanding in the Lithuania and continuing to grow the team.
Arbor is looking for Full Backend Developer to work on the backend development of user-centric application.  

Your main responsibilities will be:
- Work closely with the head of development to provide delivery estimates and manage activities throughout the development lifecycle;
- Support and develop projects from requirements to design, architecturing and deployment;
- Ensure attention to quality, maintainability, performance and testing
- Help build and develop the development team.

Requirements:
- 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Proficient in English;
- Highly motivated to disrupt the financial industry through innovation;
- Good programing skills PHP, Python or other languages and good knowledge of programming patterns and best practices
- Experience with AWS environment and services: architecture, adoption, implementation and maintenance – advantage;
- Experience in modeling databases and handling data flow;
- Experience with JS tooling (NPM, Gulp, etc.) and version control system (Git);
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum framework) and continuous integration practices
- Experience in developing user - centric applications – advantage.
