Job description:

  • Supports the Flight Safety Manager with administration of the FDM efforts to ensure analysis of flight data for improved flight safety;
  • Actively manages Flight Data Analyst team, initiates SAG and if required other team meetings;
  • Oversees day to day flight data analysis including event validation and data review using the GJT provided software tools;
  • Oversees data collection process of aircraft fleet in conjunction with Maintenance and Engineering departments;
  • Oversees systematic approach for data protection and confidentiality of the analyzed data is ensured;
  • Supply reports to Safety Manager with summarized data on flight data analysis, trend reports, root cause analysis and suggested corrective actions of digital flight data to determine adverse events, trends in flight and maintenance operations of any FDA program deviation in order to utilize safe and effective SMS;
  • On early bases, at least twice a year arrange FDA related SRB to review event criteria list, review required changes for FDA program;
  • Coordinates, develops, verifies and validates aircraft specific event definitions and procedures to alter thresholds and various limitation exceedances;
  • Liaise with FDA software providers, CAA, investigators, auditors, pilots;
  • Assist Safety Manager with event investigation when required;
  • On regular bases at least 1 time/month provides summary of Identified hazards, safety and security issues, mismatches in company procedures and deviations from company procedures directly to Safety Manager;
  • On regular bases at least 1 time/month compiles reports, presentations, and statistical data and presents FDM data summaries for use by senior management, regulators, and pilots to keep the FDM community informed of the status and programs of the FDM information;
  • Performs specialized studies and fulfills special data requests;
  • Creates safety and FDM department publications;
  • Prepare investigation reports that include the facts, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations associated with an event;
  • Determine, based on outcome of investigation, appropriate corrective actions and submit those corrective actions to leadership for dispensation;
  • Assist in the coordination of corrective actions with operating departments and facilitate Operational Risk Management techniques within the organization to mitigate identified risks;
  • Reviews corrective action responses to inspections and internal evaluations findings for adequacy;
  • Represent the safety team at industry and company meetings, industry conferences and training events;
  • Performs and act in accordance with company established standards and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, flight technology, engineering, or related area or a combination of education;
  • Previous work experience, in air carrier operations; quality control, compliance, maintenance, operations, safety or a combination of these areas.
  • Flight data analysis and/or aviation risk management experience preferred;
  • Ability to work autonomously;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills;
  • 500 flight hours on one of GJT A/C type;
  • Be active pilot involved day to day operation;
  • Must possess excelent SMS knowledge and knowledge of EASA, ICAO, IATA functions as it relates to air carrier operations.
