Data Warehousing Team Lead

We are looking for the Data Warehouse Engineering team lead within LTG Digital, our IT centre. LTG Digital is at the core of JSC „Lithuanian Railways“ digital transformation journey. You’ll be given an early responsibility to shape and drive the design and development of our Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions. You’ll be at the front of truly complex projects, which will impact and add value to multiple parts of our business while utilising the newest technologies and best practices.



We are in the process of modernizing our data management and analytics capabilities (cloud architecture, big data and IoT capabilities, advanced analytics, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA) and most of the project work will be in these areas.



Key responsibilities will include

Ensuring integration, scalability, delivery and performance of information systems and analytics tools, which support the business needs and delivers the desired outcomes
Managing team’s workload and priorities; hiring, developing, leading and guiding team members; ensuring high team spirit and motivation
Establishment of Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions on the basis of SAP BW/4HANA
Managing and improving the ETL processing, modelling and building new data flows to meet business information needs
Participating in all phases of business intelligence projects and supporting the existing business as usual activities
Ensuring that business intelligence best practices and methodologies are being used across projects and processes
Depending on expertise, act as an advisor for business intelligence, analytics tools, data pipeline and data warehousing questions
Ensuring quality assurance and data security best practices across business intelligence systems

At least 3 years of experience in leading and managing a data development/engineering team
Solid data warehousing and ETL development experience
Exposure to both SAP and non-SAP source system landscapes
You have experience with SAP BW (on HANA) and/or SAP BW/4HANA (Preferably possess related certifications)
Advantage if you have experience modelling Calculation views / CDS views on SAP HANA
Preferred exposure to SAP BO Data Services and / or MS SQL Server and SSIS
SQL proficiency and solid understanding of data structures, relations, data flows and database modelling and design
SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BO and / or MS Power BI functionality awareness is an advantage
Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics functionality and positioning
Solid understanding of current data warehousing best practices and trends. Good awareness of data reporting, visualisation and dashboarding. Advantage, if you have awareness of Service Oriented Architecture, Master Data Management and automated data management solutions
Experience in working and contributing to project work and tasks. Ability to work independently and in a complex change environment while meeting pre-agreed timelines
Professional approach to using project management and issue tracking tools
Solid understanding of dev/test/prod lifecycle, testing and data quality assurance practices
A big plus, if you have experience or solid understanding of data engineering practices in Big Data/Data Science space
