Job description
Under minimal supervision and working collaboratively with other members of the Product team, this Lead Software Development Engineer shapes our product offering for our customer base – large global enterprise customers. You will lead a team of talented software engineers to build Azure-based cloud application products to solve complicated customer problems and deliver software releases in time.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Owns and drives development and delivery of large pieces of the product
- Responsible for hiring, motivation and growing a team of engineers and ensuring that product delivery is on track with expected quality & goals
- Delivers development plans, test automation and frameworks, measures performance and scalability of the product.
- Performs ad-hoc and exploratory testing related to performance of the product.
- Designs, architects, and implements test code and infrastructure to test enterprise-grade software.
Performs other duties as required - May supervise, manage, and prioritizes the work of individuals on the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university in Computer Science or a related field
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience with C# and .NET technologies
- 2 years of software engineering management experience
- Experience delivering multiple commercial software releases
- Experience developing test plans
- Experience writing comprehensive functional and performance test cases and test design specifications
- Experience with test automation and their associated frameworks for enterprise level applications
- Experience with large scale production systems, familiar with deploying software at large scale for both enterprise on-premises and cloud-based services
- Breadth of experience across UI, Setup, Databases
- Experience with Azure software architecting is advantageous
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong software development skills
- Strong skills in C# and .NET technologies, WebApplications, SQL, including Analysis Services (Cube and MDX) and Reporting Services
- Ability to test and build rapid prototypes of test suites
- Strong grasp of fundamentals in multi-threaded programming
- Knowledge of Microsoft Unified Communications solutions, such as Office Communications Server or Lync, and Azure is advantageous
- Ability to communicate directly with customers, capture requirements effectively, analyze and prioritize requirements, and produce solutions that address customer needs
- Strong oral and written communications skills with cross discipline team members
- Ability to prioritize requirements, work on multiple work streams & deliverables while maintaining focus
- Very strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Ability to work in a fast moving, dynamic organization
- Ability to grasp new technologies and APIs very quickly
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team
