Senior DevOps Engineer

IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.

You will work with various projects and clients, working towards client specifications. You will have a real passion for the philosophy of DevOps which they’ll be able to use to their advantage and deliver value for our clients. Your role will involve designing and deploying solutions to the cloud which will allow: automatic provisioning and management of environments; the capability to continuously integrate; containerization functionality and the automation of testing.

Responsibilities:

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

• CI/CD: Jenkins, Tekton
• Linux: Administration, Scripting (Bash, KSH, Python)
• Networking: basic technical knowledge
• Databases: basic technical knowledge
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud
• Configuration Management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Terraform
• Monitoring tools: prometeus, grafana, ELK, DataDog, Splunk
• Containers Orchestration: OpenShift, Kubernetes
• Version Control: Git, Gitlab, BitBucket
