Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs
- Assisting program staff with designing programs and developing budgets and monitoring and evaluation plans;
- Liaise with program participants and partner organizations for programmatic and administrative purposes;
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on political developments in Belarus;
- Assistance with preparing quarterly reports;
- Contributing to the drafting of proposals;
- Building strong working relationships with IRI’s partners and on-the-ground stakeholders;
- Maintaining consistent and productive communication with the Washington, DC headquarters and local implementing partners;
- Assisting program staff with overseeing spending on program grants, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with donor and internal financial rules and processes;
- Providing efficient and timely action on administrative matters;
- Preparing correspondence and program outreach materials;
- Coordinating travel arrangements and logistics for staff, trainers, and program participants;
- Conducting research on assigned topics, writing reports, and reporting on discussions;
- Event preparation and logistical assistance, including but not limited to: preparing the conference room for meetings, managing logistics for training and conferences; distribution of conference materials; and organizing participant and staff travel, accommodation, and venues;
- Providing written and oral translation, as required;
- Taking minutes for meetings when assigned by leadership;
- Performing other duties, as assigned.
Requirements for the position
- Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations or related field and one year of political or related experience, or equivalent combination;
- Fluency in English and Russian (speaking, writing, and reading). Knowledge of Belarusian an asset but not required;
- Lithuanian passport or Lithuanian residency/work permit;
- Ability to work independently and within a team;
- Strong writing and analytical skills as demonstrated by a writing sample;
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment and to multi-task efficiently;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
- Facility with MS Word, Excel, and other database systems;
- Ability to telework, if needed.
