We'll be looking for you to operate as part of the Consumer Protection Compliance and Fraud Risk Management (FRM) team within the Regulatory Compliance Office. You will be the member of a team that requires a data analytical resource to assist in protecting consumers and reducing the risk of financial crime

Here are the main responsibilities for the role:

  • Support the Regional Consumer Protection Compliance and Fraud Risk Manager in improving control measures in the Region.

  • Monitor transactional data in order to identify fraudulent trends and patterns utilizing data analytical skills.

  • Act as a connection between the FRM Monitoring and Compliance Systems Analytics team, conduct the analysis of fraudulent activities and refer the cases to the appropriate team (FRM Monitoring and/or Compliance Systems Analytics).

  • Identify perpetrators of fraud/chronic victims of fraud and take appropriate steps in order to make sure these consumers are interdicted.

  • Identify areas/country corridors that require increased control measures to protect Western Union and their consumers.

  • Document and maintain records of identified risks/threats within countries of the European Region and providing support and recommendations to the management.

  • Provide all the necessary support in preparation for external fraud awareness events and activities

  • Run ad hoc reports for the business and compliance teams.

  • Produce monthly Regional Dashboards for multiple entities.

  • Produce country overviews for the local teams, in order to highlight consumer protection and/or fraudulent activities on a country level.

  • Produce data for regulatory reports as per PSD2 requirements.

  • Produce input on consumer fraud data to multiple risk assessments.

Here are some skills, attributes, and qualifications you will have:

  • A university degree in a quantitive subject within the fields of math, finance, or management of information systems of similar.

  • A minimum of two years of work experience dealing with information security controls and risk operations within the financial sector or similar.

  • Experienced in SQL coding.

  • Advanced Excel experience.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to absorb large quantities of data.

  • Intermediate Tableau experience (Desired).

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical skills required, investigative experience preferred, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task using excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective communicator, orally and in writing - experience working in virtual teams with a variety of cross-functional partners – able to produce analytical findings and present at the appropriate level depending on the audience

The monthly gross base salary range is 1,754-2,759 EUR. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is one component of the Western Union total compensation package, which includes short-term incentives, multiple health insurance options, accident, and life insurance, and access to best-in-class development platforms, to name a few!
