We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Backup Team Specialist to join our Danske Bank Backup department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of our data by managing backup and recovery processes across the organization.

You will:

Automate manual tasks
Develop Backup as a Service concept
Keep Backup infrastructure compliant and healthy
Configure Data Storage, Data Protection and Distributed storage systems
Work on large-scale, high-availability storage stacks for enterprises with a focus on stability and performance
Monitor the daily backup process and solve incidents that may arise
Monitor, maintain backup and storage environment and troubleshoot problems that may arise
Follow standard processes for change, incident, problem management, audit, and security
Write technical operating system documentation
Solve issues quickly and efficiently after hours (on-call)
Act as an SME for less experienced colleagues, providing leadership and coaching if needed

About you:

Educational background in the IT field
5+ years of experience as a Backup Engineer
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
Knowledge of systems administration: Windows, Linux, Networking, Virtualization (VMware)
Knowledge and experience with Chef Ansible would be beneficial
Experience with Git control system would be beneficial
Experience with any Enterprise backup tools: Commvault (would be a valuable addition), Rubrik, Cohesity, IBM TSM, and Symantec Netbackup
Experience with storage devices: object, block, file storage understanding, tape library fundamentals
Experience with distributed systems and high-availability solutions
A proven history of delivering automation solutions and solving complex issues
Incident and change management experience (an ITIL Foundation certificate would be a value-added factor)
Understanding security challenges and solutions
Upper-Intermediate English skills (written and spoken)

We offer

Monthly salary range from 3920 EUR to 5880 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
